Since 2018, inAut GmbH has supported individuals with autism spectrum disorders in securing and maintaining employment in the private sector. The company collaborates closely with cantonal IV offices, billing nearly all services through them.

Starting January 2021, IV offices have increasingly switched to electronic invoicing. This shift allows invoices to be processed faster and more efficiently. However, companies must upgrade or update their technical tools. Standard software in the eHealth sector is often very expensive and overly complex, leading to confusion rather than relief.

The eHealth Platform was designed to simplify and automate the billing process through a user-friendly web application. With just one click, services can be recorded and securely invoiced to the appropriate institution (IV office, health insurer, etc.) in the correct format. Additionally, all transactions are seamlessly integrated into the accounting system (Bexio).

Digio AG began by deeply analyzing the eHealth landscape: understanding current processes, identifying key stakeholders, exploring hNET’s functionality, and pinpointing common errors.

Collaborating closely with inAut GmbH, we critically assessed and streamlined workflows using modern digital tools. This partnership resulted in the development of new, efficient processes that enhanced productivity and minimized errors.

Given the sensitive nature of the personal data, special attention was given to secure data transmission to the healthcare institutions, meeting stringent Swiss healthcare system regulations.

The eHealth Platform enables the secure, automated billing of healthcare services via hNET. To meet strict data protection requirements, it operates independently from other systems. User access is role-based, ensuring data is visible only to authorized personnel.

When recording services or creating new invoices, user inputs are checked for accuracy and validity. Once an invoice is approved, the necessary billing information (services, payment recipients, and invoice recipients/institutions) is encrypted and transmitted to the “Digio eHealth Service.”

This service processes the data according to complex rules and regulatory standards, transmitting it securely through the highly protected eHealth network of the Swiss healthcare system to the invoice recipient or institution. Additionally, the invoice status is automatically synchronized with the accounting system, allowing payment receipts to be automatically matched with the issued invoices.
