In this course, the following competencies will be taught and practiced through real-life examples:

• Understanding national and cantonal cyber defense authorities and their roles in law enforcement.
• Recognizing the profiles, motivations, and methods of different types of attackers.
• Identifying common cyber-attacks and learning how to detect and defend against them.
• Knowing the appropriate actions to take in the event of a cyber-attack.
• Preventing cyber-attack damages in both personal and professional environments.

This course covers the following topics, delivered with practical, hands-on activities:

• The cyber landscape in Switzerland
• Actors, motivations, and attack vectors in Cyber-Attacks
• The human factor as a vulnerability (Social Engineering)
• Understanding, detecting, and defending against attacks (Spear-Phishing/Smishing/Vishing, CEO Fraud, Social Engineering, Bad USB, etc.)
• Response and mitigation measures following an attack

The course is action-oriented and practical, featuring a variety of exercises. Short theoretical sessions are reinforced with interactive activities using Digio AG’s course platform.

Upon successful completion, each participant and their company will receive a certificate detailing the competencies gained, course content, and duration.

This beginner-friendly course requires only basic computer skills (e.g., using Office programs and email) for an optimal learning experience. It is designed for end-users without prior cyber security knowledge.

The course is conducted in German, and participants are required to bring their own laptops.
